Quick start

This guide takes you from a fresh install to a wholesale customer seeing wholesale prices. It uses a simple example: every product in the Clothing category gets 20% off for wholesale customers who buy at least 5 of an item.

Before you start, install and activate Vite Wholesale and make sure WooCommerce is active.

#Step 1: Create a pricing rule

1. Go to ViteWholesale → Pricing Rules and click Add Pricing Rule.
2. Enter a Rule Name, for example Clothing 20% off.
3. A new rule already contains an empty Rule Group# 1. Inside it, click Add Rule.
4. Change the new condition row from Product to Category, keep Equal to, choose Clothing, and set Min qty to 5.
5. Set Discount Type to Percentage and Discount Value to 20.
6. Leave Status on and click Save.

Below each group, a plain-language sentence describes what the group matches. Use it to check that the rule does what you intend. For more options, see Pricing rules.

#Step 2: Create a badge and make it the default

1. Go to ViteWholesale → Badges and click Add Badge.
2. Enter a Badge Title, for example Wholesale.
3. Under Pricing Rules, select the rule you just created.
4. Leave Status on and click Save.
5. In the badge list, click Set as default on the new badge and confirm.

The default badge is the one customers receive automatically when you approve their application. See Customer badges.

Tip: Set a default badge before you approve anyone. Approving a customer while no default badge exists gives them no wholesale pricing until you assign a badge by hand.

#Step 3: Have a customer apply

Customers apply from their WooCommerce account, so they need a store account and must be logged in.

1. Log in as a test customer, for example John Doe (john@example.com).
2. Go to My Account → Wholesale.
3. Fill in the Wholesale Application form and click Submit Application.

The customer now sees Application Status: Pending.

#Step 4: Approve the application

1. As an admin, go to ViteWholesale → Applications.
2. Find John Doe's application with the Pending status.
3. Click View Details to review what he submitted, then click Approve and confirm.

John is now an approved wholesale customer holding your default badge. See Wholesale applications for rejecting and re-applying.

#Step 5: Check the storefront

Log in as John and open a product in the Clothing category. Under the normal price, he sees a hint such as "Buy 5 or more for $16.00 each (wholesale price)" on a $20.00 item. Add 5 or more to the cart. The cart shows the regular price struck through, the wholesale price, and how much he saves.

#Skip the application (optional)

To give an existing customer wholesale access directly, go to ViteWholesale → Customers, click Assign Badge on their row, choose a badge, tick the confirmation box and click Save. See Managing customers.

Pro: Give approved customers a dedicated Wholesale Shop, let them request quotes, and upgrade badges as they spend more.
